Job Summary

General Description of Position Goals: The Instructional Literacy Coach is responsible for building teachers’ capacity, to ensure diverse learners meet the demands of adopted Common Core State Standards and effective classroom implementation of literacy practices, including a focus on foundational reading skills, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing development in the context of a Multi- Tiered System of Support (MTSS). The Instructional Literacy Coach will provide on-going academic classroom- based modeling, coaching, and mentoring to plan, implement, and deliver high-quality professional development in reading and language development; and support Professional Learning Communities (PLC)/Grade Level or Content Level Teams inquiry, collaboration, and data analysis. Additionally, the Instructional Literacy Coach may be asked to organize, manage, and document literacy implementation plans as outlined by the site administration.

Requirements / Qualifications

1. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching. A minimum of one year of successful experience coaching is desirable. 2. Education: Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required; Official Transcripts. Master’s Degree is desirable. 3. Credential: Possession of a valid California Credential authorizing Elementary or Single Subject Service and English Learner Authorization is required. 4. Other Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing: -Department of Homeland Security I-9 Form completion -TB Test Clearance -Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance -Must possess a valid California Driver’s License during the course of employment. Must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.

Salary Info

$65,655 - $136,033 (12 years of certificated teaching experience accepted upon hire)
