BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, provides assistance and support to ensure that programs operate effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with guidelines of Oakland Unified School District and funding agencies. Provides assistance in the coordination of special projects. Works closely with other clerical staff within the office to support the effective and efficient operation of inter-related functions. Performs other related work as required to support program operations.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. - Manages staff development databases including data entry and layout and preparation of reports. E
- Manages grant accounts, including preparation of requisitions and reports. E
- Prepares a wide range of reports and correspondence. E
- Maintains accurate records of staff development. E
- Assists in the coordination of meetings, including the recording of minutes. E
- Helps design and manage the staff development Web site.
- Organizes, reviews and summarizes staff development data, attendance, schedules, locations and presenters. E
- Completes other duties of a clerical nature as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of increasingly responsible secretarial and/or accounting experience; including one year in an educational setting.
Employment eligibility that may include fingerprints, health (TB) and/or other employment clearance.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Current office practices and procedures
- Basic accounting principals.
- Windows and Macintosh computers applications to manage databases, compose narrative guidelines, policies, documents and correspondence, and to prepare financial reports;
ABILITY TO:
- Use Internet applications and to create and manage Web pages.
- Interpret and communicate guidelines and policies.
- Work as a team member.
- Organize, plan and follow through on work tasks.
- Think critically; ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
- Meet deadlines.
