The Opportunity
We are seeking a temporary salaried instructor for the Sheet Metal Worker apprenticeship. As an instructor, you will create a supportive and innovative learning environment, utilizing existing curriculum resources and various instructional techniques to promote learning and personal development. In addition to creating teaching and learning plans, course maps, and assessments, you will provide ongoing support and guidance to learners, evaluate student progress and achievement, and participate in promotional activities such as SAIT’s Open House.

The Role
Instruct Sheet Metal apprenticeship training courses to a diverse learner community
Develop course outlines, profiles and curriculum
Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
Evaluate student progress and achievement
Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
Qualifications & Experience
Have a minimum Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in Sheet Metal Worker
Ideally, have at least 5 years’ experience as a Sheet Metal Worker Journeyperson in various installation and service environments.
Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Be committed to ethical behaviour.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and presentation software.
Prior teaching or training experience in adult education.

Salary range: $80,540.00-$87,096.00
