Position Purpose: The Assistant Innkeeper will under the direction of the Innkeeper, maintain the quality and the seamless guest experience at the property. The Assistant Innkeeper is a strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including guest and employee satisfaction, breakfast hosting for guests, and support with room turning.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will lead or guide those supporting needs on site from time to time.
Essential Duties and Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks:
- The Assistant Innkeeper will receive daily assignments from and reports directly to the Innkeeper for the daily operation of the business.
- Follow all Standard Operating Practices (SOP's) of the B&B and company employee manual.
- Maintain high level of positive and professional approach with employees, coworkers, and guests.
- Daily Preparations for Breakfast: Set-up, prepare breakfast, serve guests and then cleanup of the dining room & kitchen spaces.
- Reservation support: Make advance reservations, facilitate walk-in reservations, describe guest room details and amenities.
- Guest Services: Facilitate guest arrivals and departures, amenity services.
- Housekeeping: Clean and maintain overall cleanliness of the property including: The Main house, kitchen, Guest rooms, and outdoor space.
- Drive morale positively as an accountable party to be present and visible to guests and team members.
- Communicate regularly with property staff regarding job assignments and required timeframe for proper workflow.
- Ensure property compliance with legal, safety, operations, labor, and the Heritage brand product and service standards.
- Interact with guests and on a frequent basis to obtain feedback of their experiences on property; utilize guest feedback to help recognize excellent team member service performance and improve service delivery.
- Oversee / Carry out special projects for property.
- Other duties as assigned consistent with the functions of this position as needed by leadership.

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office required, hospitality PMS software a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in hospitality; hotel or b and b preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable about Taos and its surrounding areas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to multitask.
- Passionate to provide exemplary guest service.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights.
- Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more.
- Must be able to lift/push/reach for/carry 30+ pounds occasionally.
- High School Diploma or GED required, Hospitality focused higher-ed a plus.
