Odyssey Systems is seeking a Scientist (Research Associate/Post-Doctoral Fellow) to perform vaccine and therapeutic development research at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in the Biological Research and Development department (BR&D) located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Responsibilities:Duties include, but not limited to:
- Support research in the Molecular Engineering and Biochemistry Laboratory, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Silver Spring Maryland.
- Perform protein structure analysis for the design of novel vaccines and antibodies.
- Use AI-based Protein Design Tools (Alphafold, ProteinMPNN, RFDiffusion, PROSS and PyMOL).
- Express proteins and Virus-like Particles in expression platforms.
- Perform in vitro assays.
- Perform statistical analysis of data.
- Use instruments like: HPLC, FPLC, Octet/SPR, DSC/ITC, TFF; ELISA reader, small scale fermentation.
- Must be an independent thinker to collaborate with the Principal Investigator.
- Draft abstracts, manuscripts and reports for presentation at meetings.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Ability to obtain NACI
Education: M.S. or Ph.D in Biological Sciences
Years of Experience:1-3 years in a laboratory setting
Certifications: N/A

Education: Ph.D in Biological Sciences
Years of experience: 3-5 years in a laboratory setting

- Technical experience in lab work is required
