Boys  Basketball - 7th Grade Coach

Aitkin High School is searching for a junior high boys basketball coach for the 2025-2026 school year.  The position will work with the head coach to oversee the junior high levels of the boys’ basketball activities district wide and support the development of the overall program. This position will serve the students in our Middle School (Grades 7-8).  The junior high coaching position will start in late November and runs to the end of the season in February.  The practice schedule is set for 2-3 hours/day (Approximately 3:30 - 6:00 PM) depending on the different winter sports teams and needs for the existing facilities. The Aitkin Independent School District # 1 believes that a dynamic program of student activities is vital to the educational development of all students, providing experiences that promote the physical, mental, social, and emotional development of all participants.

Responsibilities of the boys junior high coach Include:

• Teaching sport specific skills and rules under the direction of the Head Coach.

• Promoting and developing programs that build a relationship with other high school programs and encourage involvement with school activities.

• To provide a positive image of school at activities in the Aitkin school district.

• To teach all participants to function as individuals and to contribute to the accomplishments of a group or team.

• Focus on promoting leadership in the program and community.
