Description

Position Summary:  

As a Pharmacy Clerk, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, providing outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone. You'll support pharmacy operations through accurate data entry, effective cash handling, point of sale transactions, and inventory management ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient. 

Essential Functions:  

  1. Receives prescriptions from patients prior to presentation to pharmacist for dispensing.
  2. Advises pharmacist as to which patients are waiting.
  3. Receives and stores incoming drugs and supplies, checks invoices, and submits to pharmacist for final approval. After approval forwards to accounts payable.
  4. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customer or patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer when directed by the pharmacist.
  5. Retrieves messages from the 24-hour recorder, may prepare refill request for prescriptions to be approved by the physician. This may include pulling the patient’s chart.
  6. Waits on patients and acts as the pharmacy cashier.
  7. Cleans equipment and shelving according to prescribed methods.
  8. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
  9. Must have proof of completed COVID vaccinations.

Qualifications


Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  2. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  3. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  4. Computer Skills:  Have basic understanding of Word and Excel.                                     
  5. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  CPR

  • Must be sensitive to the needs of the Native American Community, demonstrate a deep understanding and respect for the diverse cultural heritage, traditions and historical context of the Native American Community. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
