Sr. RF Engineer

 

We are hiring a boldly curious, technical visionary ready to define how we communicate tomorrow. In this highly influential role, the Sr. RF Engineer will be responsible for the design and analysis of highly complex feed systems used in satellite communications. 

 

JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearhead innovative designs for existing and emerging antenna feed markets. 
  • Prepare and present technical proposals. 
  • Ensure feasibility of customer specifications and translate to high-quality designs. 
  • Work cohesively with Manufacturing Engineering to review prints and ensure dimensional and accuracy requirements. 
  • Support and generate design reviews, presentations, data reviews, peer reviews, and production support. 
  • Communicate Test Requirements to Test Group. 
  • Support RF Test Group with review of test procedure, test plan, and test reports. 
  • Support Management with defining standard processes and procedures for RF engineering tasks. 
  • Troubleshoot on development projects through various methods, including testing, root cause analysis, and similar approaches
  • Manage development projects
  • Problem solve and support in-house departments, suppliers, and customers. 
  • Participate in process/continuous improvement activities. 
  • Plan, work and communicate milestones and deliverables. 
  • Serve as a mentor within the RF team.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Design for manufacturing, including knowledge of lean principles 
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration 
  • Expert knowledge of microwave communications and EM theory 
  • Strong knowledge of RF test methods and equipment 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passive microwave design experience
  • Working knowledge of Mode Matching Software, Finite Element Modeling Systems, MMW, CST, GRASP, CHAMP, MATLAB, and other 3D EM RF CAD tools. 
  • Knowledge of RF measurement equipment and techniques

CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSEE, BS Radio Frequency Engineering, or similar required. 
  • Minimum 5 years of related engineering experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing passive microwave components. 
    • Related Master’s Degree may substitute two (2) years of experience. 
    • Related Ph.D may substitute five (5) years of experience. 
  • Experience with GRASP, Mode Matching Software, Finite Element Modeling systems, and other 3D EM RF CAD tools. 
  • Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Green Card.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be able to sit in a stationary position for more than 50% of day.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; repetitive motions include, but are not limited to, keyboarding and data entry operations.
  • Must be able to intermittently stand and walk for longer than 30 minutes throughout the work shift. 
  • May require occasional utilization of stairs and/or ladder.
  • May require occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching to access work supplies. 
  • This position involves extensive internal and external communication; ability to utilize a phone and convey accurate information in person, over the phone, and through email. 
  • Must be able to see in artificial/fluorescent lighting. 
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This role is based in a manufacturing facility. Workers may be exposed to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request. 

Job Information: 
 This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for the employer-sponsored benefits listed under "Spacetime Engineering is Proud to Offer." This position is considered exempt (paid on a salaried basis). 
 

Pay range: $150,000-$200,000 based on qualifications and experience.
