JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Specialist (part-time) has responsibility for ensuring a safe, clean, and functional facility. Daily ongoing moderate to detailed maintenance activities of offices, classrooms, outdoor areas, and other spaces used by Operation Breakthrough.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to move and lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Knowledge of common building mechanical systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security system, fire suppression, and lawn maintenance
- Provide routine maintenance such as replacing bulbs and ballasts, minor to extensive plumbing, sewer and building repairs, patching and painting walls, assembling and moving furniture, etc.
- Keep facility and center’s equipment clean and in good working condition in accordance with programmatic, local, state and federal regulations.
- Document and inform supervisor of any interior or exterior safety or health concerns.
- Perform daily health and safety site inspections. Suggest improvements to provide safer environment for children, families and staff and assist with repairs.
- Ensure emergency exits are accessible and lighting is in safe, working condition and assist with the center’s emergency plan i.e. gas and water shut off.
- Take precautions to protect your own health and safety as well as the health and safety of children, families, and staff and to protect equipment and facility.
- Work various hours, days, including evenings, and weekends depending on facility needs or in case of emergency.

- Complete required record keeping, including checklists of daily work orders and special events.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License
