Position: Assistant Infant Teacher
Reports To: Director of Early Learning Center
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Description:
The Assistant Infant Teacher is responsible for the management and supervision of the older infant through toddler classroom which includes caring for their physical needs such as: personal care, feeding, and hygiene. In addition, this position will plan and implement the MPCS Preschool curriculum which involves activities to develop physical, emotional and social growth.
Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children
- Observes all rules and regulations of the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children
- Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
- Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the MPCS Preschool curriculum
- Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions
- Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the MPCS guidelines
- Assists in other capacities that the Head of Preschool, or designee, determines is necessary
- Works closely with the Pre-K Assistant teacher and other Preschool employees
- Supports the value of an education founded in Christian values
- Supports the philosophy and mission of Mount Pisgah Christian School
Qualifications:
- A mission-driven individual who demonstrates an eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment & genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community.
- Communications: Effective written, verbal, and editing communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Collaboration: Has student-centered-focus and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Analytical Skills: Budget Management.

- Occasional work nights and weekends in support of departmental school activities.
