Internship Summary:

The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Intern will support site safety initiatives and compliance activities, gaining hands-on experience in safety program implementation and cross-functional collaboration. This role offers exposure to industrial safety practices and provides opportunities to contribute meaningfully to ongoing safety efforts.

The paid internship will be 13 weeks in duration for the summer of 2026 with flexible start dates. Student interns must be able to work full-time.

The internship will be split between a major project and daily tasks.

Housing will not be provided for the internship

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field permit audits
  • Assist with developing safety training programs
  • Support document control and recordkeeping
  • Participate as a member of the EVAL Safety Committee
  • Contribute to the Job Observation Program Review Committee
  • Participate in safety-related incident investigations
  • Engage in pre-startup safety reviews
  • Review and update the EVAL Aspects and Impacts documentation
  • Complete assigned action items as applicable
  • Update documentation including procedures and standards
  • Attend all required meetings aligned with job responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
  • Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Strong academic performance minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and extracurricular achievement.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
  • Demonstrated communication and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of adaptability, innovation, initiative and integrity.
  • Must have legal U.S. working authorization to participate in the program.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening process.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
