JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the primary responsibilities of the Technician II include performing preventive maintenance on all company owned equipment to company and regulatory requirements. Technician II’s are to have knowledge of DOT regulations and Out of Service Criteria. Technician II’s are to lubricate and change oil and filters on all equipment defined by the PM schedule. Technician II’s should have the ability to make minor repairs such as lights, hoses, and other minor tasks as directed. Technician II’s will assist all other technicians when necessary. Technician IIs will perform service calls.

- Adheres to all company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements
- Must be able to perform all tasks as assigned with minimal supervision
- Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of all positions
- Perform scheduled service and maintenance on all company owned equipment.
- Inspect all systems of the unit to ensure D.O.T. and C.H.P. compliance.
- Technician IIs are to repair any small items found and document larger items on PM Sheet
- Technician IIs will communicate all Out Of Service (O.S.S.) items to supervisor immediately
- Technician II’s will document parts, time, and description of service for every unit to be turned in at the end of every assigned task.
- Must be able to change tires as necessary
- Proactively communicates issues to supervisor
- Able to contribute to the goal of the Shop and Operations of maximizing uptime.
- Maintains a clean safe workplace
- Wash equipment when necessary
- Attend vendor and company sponsored training
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- intermediate knowledge of repairs and diagnostics
- 3-5 years’ experience
- Ability to use power tools and Diagnostic equipment
SKILLS IN:
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and to follow safe operating practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written/verbal
- Exceptional listening, communication, follow-through, and interpersonal skills
- Team Player
- Should be self-motivated, safety oriented and be able to work in a deadline driven environment
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
MINIMUM REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3-5 Years of experience in maintenance
- Valid Class C License
- Basic computer skills
