Summary:

The Senior EDD Analyst implements and executes the Credit Union’s BSA/AML compliance program, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering & Office of Foreign Assets Control (BSA/AML & OFAC) regulations and policies.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or a minimum of eight years directly related experience required. 

  • Minimum five years BSA/AML/EDD compliance required

  • Minimum two years focused on Enhanced Due Diligence required

  • Financial crimes certifications required (e.g., ACAMS, CAFP, ACSS, etc.)

  • Advanced understanding of Know Your Customer/Customer Identification Program functions from either a First Line or Second Line perspective required

  • Strong research skills, including conducting open source/internet research using a variety of sites and methods (LexisNexis)

  • Experience working with CORE customer platforms such as DNA or other FiServ products

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA Patriot Act, OFAC regulations, strategies and federal regulatory enforcement policies

  • Familiarity with the following software systems is preferred: Verafin, DNA Core system, WireExchange and Thomson Reuters CLEAR searches

  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-depth EDD reviews of high-risk members  in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act

  • Analyzes transactional activity to detect patterns of unusual behavior, possible structuring, or other red flags indicative of money laundering or terrorist financing

  • Drafts comprehensive EDD reports with clear and concise narratives outlining the rationale behind risk ratings and due diligence conclusions

  • Collaborates with Member Services, Lending, and Risk teams to gather necessary documentation and support relationship management for high-risk accounts

  • Escalates suspicious activity and assists in preparing SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) in coordination with the AML Investigations team

  • Develops and maintains Key Risk Indicators ensuring that identified trends or issues are reported to Management in accordance with applicable policies and procedures

  • Ensures adherence to Know Your Member (KYM) protocols, including a comprehensive understanding of business documentation for various business types

  • Reviews and investigates alerts in internal systems

  • Provides subject matter expertise and guidance to the Front Line, Business Lines and Operations teams on KYM/MDD/EDD policies and procedures to enhance the compliance framework

  • Maintains and enhances the credit union’s risk-based EDD procedures, working closely with the BSA/AML Officer to ensure alignment with current regulatory expectations

  • Assists in the implementation and optimization of transaction monitoring and member risk-rating systems.

  • Participates in internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, providing subject matter expertise and documentation support

  • Mentor and guide junior analysts on EDD processes and investigative best practices

The good faith range for this position is $35.50 to $42.50 an hour. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
