Job Description:

Summary:

The Part-Time Business Law Program (“BLP”) Program Assistant position will provide key administrative support and benefits to the BLP in handling the BLP’s increasing workload relating to current BLP programs and initiatives, enhance the BLP’s ability to explore and establish key proposed initiatives, including revenue generating BLP certificate programs, enhance the BLP‘s ability to plan, manage and coordinate high quality BLP conferences, enhancing the BLP’s profile as a vibrant program and cutting edge leader in business law. This position would initially be structured as a part-time position, 20-25 hours per week, with compensation and any benefits commensurate with WCL and University hiring policies regarding similar positions. The BLP would periodically assess whether a part-time position addresses program needs.          

 

Essential Functions: 

1.) Business Law Compliance and Ethics Certificate Program Support

  • Provide administrative and programmatic support for the Business Law Compliance and Ethics Certificate Program, including coordinating course offerings, managing enrollment processes, assisting in curriculum development, and supporting faculty and student engagement to ensure the program's effective growth and compliance with institutional standards. 

  

2.) Program Development and Expansion of Micro‑Certificates

  • Provide strategic support in exploring, designing, marketing, and administering a revenue‑generating portfolio of business law–related “micro‑certificate” offerings. This includes conducting market analysis, collaborating on curriculum design, coordinating promotional strategies, managing enrollment and program logistics, and ensuring quality delivery and stakeholder engagement to drive sustainable growth and institutional revenue. 

3.) Event Planning and Community Engagement Support

  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, development, and execution of high‑quality conferences, webinars, and related events as part of the Business Law Program (BLP). These events are specifically designed to engage both the WCL community and the broader legal sector, elevating the program’s visibility and impact. 

4.) Website Maintenance and Enhancement

  • Assist in sustaining an updated, secure, and engaging online presence for the Business Law Program (BLP) by supporting the ongoing review, content updates, technical upkeep, and strategic enhancements of the website.

  • Collaborate with faculty and communications teams to ensure timely posting of program information, news, events, and multimedia

  • Regularly review analytics, provide insights on user engagement, and recommend refinements to ensure the website remains vibrant, mission‑aligned, and user‑focused.

 

5.) Document Design, Proofreading and Publication

  • Assist in the production of polished and professional Business Law Program (BLP) newsletters, reports, and other public-facing documents by contributing to layout design, copyediting, and final proofreading.

  • Carefully apply institutional style guidelines to ensure consistency in formatting, typography, and visual elements, and use tools like spell-checkers, grammar-checkers, and manual review to catch errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

  • Support timely distribution by coordinating with communications teams, confirming document accessibility, quality control, and brand alignment before dissemination. 

 

 6.) Other Program Assistant Duties  

  • Support the BLP in coordinating logistical issues, keeping records, coordinating and updating program schedules, and other related duties as required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-Time.

  • Normally 25 hours per week, may work up to 27.75 hours per week as needed. 

  • Continuation of the program/position is contingent upon external funding.

Salary Range:

  • $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent​. 

  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience​. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience​. 

 

Travel Required:

  • Generally, no travel required.
