Job Purpose: Georgia Urology is looking for a candidate to fill our fantastic position as a Registered Nurse Advanced Prostate Cancer Infusion Lead (RNAPCIL) part time. Tuesdays will be in clinic. 2nd day is flexible. This role will average about 16 hours a week. will be a valuable member of the Advanced Prostate Cancer (APC) team and will contribute to the continuity and quality of care for APC patients. The RNAPCIL will ensure interdisciplinary collaboration across primary, secondary and tertiary health. The RNAPCIL will develop and implement a coordinated, seamless, patient focused compassionate approach to providing advanced prostate cancer nursing care.



JOB FUNCTIONS:


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Demonstrates relevant advanced level of skill in cancer or urological nursing.
  • Ability to assess patients to determine appropriateness for selected Advanced Prostate Cancer therapies under physician supervision.
  • Ability to discuss clinical risks and benefits of therapies.
  • Ability to assess and manage central lines and to start IV's for clinically compromised patients.
  • Educate patients on follow up care.
  • Ability to coordinate lab and other diagnostic tests in order to monitor patient response to therapy.
  • Assist multiple physicians in moving patients through a defined protocol.
  • Proven leadership qualities that can support program coordination of program in a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Competence in the use of relevant information technology.
  • Ability to travel to all 5 sites to ensure all infusionists follow prescribed standards of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred. Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer. Chemotherapy infusion experience minimum 1 year. Urology experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to multiple sites.
  • Ability to grasp and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all Georgia Urology clinical policies and procedures.

Education:

  • B.S. Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.


Certification/Licensure:

  • R.N. Licensure is required.
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment. ACLS Certification required upon employment.




Driving Requirements:

A valid State of Georgia Driver's License and/or reliable transportation is required
