Our Personal Injury division is committed to being the market leader. With proven expertise we provide a diverse range of products and solutions for our clients. By joining our high performing team in Darwin, you will be part of a fast-paced environment dedicated to providing outstanding service, strategic thinking and claims support, specifically in the common law and recoveries portfolios.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the Motor Accident Compensation Scheme's interstate common law claims portfolio. This includes promoting early claims resolution where possible by way of high-quality case management from the outset of claim lodgement across various jurisdictions. The successful candidate will be required to manage claims having regard to the compulsory third party insurance scheme and legislative provisions for the relevant jurisdiction with a strategic and technical approach.
In addition to the above, this role includes oversight of Motor Accident Compensation Scheme's recovery portfolio. This role includes identifying and pursuing relevant recovery options having regard to the applicable legislation.
The successful applicant must reside or be willing to relocate to Darwin, Northern Territory.
About the role
- Manage claims for individuals injured in motor accidents in the Northern Territory on behalf of MACC (Motor Accident Compensation Commission).
- Management of claims for individuals injured in motor accidents interstate who have an entitlement under the Motor Accidents (Compensation) Act (NT).
- Management of the recovery claims including identifying and pursuing relevant recovery options having regard to the applicable legislation.
- Maintaining a focus on strategic collaboration and case management at all times to maximise early resolution of claims.
- Making key liability decisions in accordance with multiple jurisdictional legislative requirements.
- Building effective working relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including legal representatives, medical professionals and rehabilitation providers to drive successful outcomes.
