What's the role?

Are you passionate about streaming culture, pop trends, and telling stories in ways that stop people mid-scroll? We’re looking for a creative, platform-savvy Social Media Editor, Streaming to grow and engage the Australian audience for a leading streaming company. Sitting within a fast-paced, collaborative digital newsroom, this is an editorial-facing role focused on creating and curating highly shareable content across social platforms to build brand awareness, drive engagement, and boost connected TV viewing.

About the role:

  • Own and grow the Australian social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and more).

  • Create and publish daily social-first content to promote a diverse catalogue of film and TV.

  • Develop and produce short-form video, memes, and visuals that spark engagement.

  • Monitor conversations and interact with followers to build a loyal community.

  • Jump on trends and cultural moments in real-time to maximise relevance.

  • Manage a content calendar around launches, premieres, and key cultural events.

  • Analyse content performance and use insights to optimise future strategies.

  • Collaborate with editorial, commercial, and global teams to align on goals.

  • Experiment with new formats, features, and creative approaches to boost reach.

  • Ensure all content reflects editorial tone, brand voice, and audience-first approach.

Who are you?

  • A streaming superfan who’s always ahead of the curve on shows, movies, and trends.

  • Experienced in social media editing, producing, or content creation within media or entertainment.

  • Skilled at crafting video-first content tailored to platform best practices.

  • A sharp writer with a witty, audience-first tone.

  • Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and what makes content perform.

  • Culturally savvy with an eye for what resonates with Gen Z and millennials.

  • Confident in making fast editorial decisions in a daily content cycle.

  • Highly organised, with strong multitasking and time management skills.

  • Comfortable working across time zones and in a fast-paced newsroom.

  • Proficient with social scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout, Later, Meta, TikTok Analytics).
