Job Description:

Baylor’s Student Health and Wellness resiliency initiatives are supported by the Baylor University Counseling Center (BUCC). A key example is the campuswide Mental Health Ally Initiative, which empowers students to promote mental wellbeing in their communities. The Mental Health Outreach Fellow will assist with social media outreach, tabling events, and collaborations with student organizations. They will shadow the Coordinator of Outreach Services, support the planning and implementation of outreach events, help manage outreach materials, attend committee meetings, and collect feedback to strengthen future programming.

Core Responsibilities 
Promoting Mental Health Resources 
Promote platforms such as Academic Live Care (ALC) and BUCC services. 
Create engaging content to increase awareness and access to services. 
Educate student organizations by attending meetings and presenting on available resources. 
Participate in tabling across campus to promote mental health resources and distribute outreach/QPR bags. 
Assist with giveaways (e.g., posting surveys, notifying winners).

Social Media and Marketing 
Collaborate with the Outreach Coordinator to: 
Manage the BUCC Instagram account. 
Develop, design, and schedule engaging posts and stories (including graphics, captions, and hashtags). 
Tag and interact with relevant groups (e.g., Wellness, Campus Rec, Active Minds). 
Engage with other campus organizations by liking, commenting, and sharing content. 
Track social media engagement and collaborations with other departments.

Support for Mental Health Ally Initiative 
Assist with the implementation and promotion of the Mental Health Ally program. 
Help develop and maintain a tracking system for active allies. 
Market Ally events through social media and other campus platforms.

Event Planning and Support 
Aid in planning, setting up, and supporting major events. 
Contribute ideas for interactive activities, games, and engagement strategies. 
Assist in coordinating logistics, ordering supplies, and preparing outreach inventory.

Administrative & Organizational Support 
Community Programming Committee: Attend, record minutes, and help implement discussed initiatives. 
Outreach Closet Management: Maintain organization and inventory; restock QPR/outreach bags; track supplies and notify staff when items are low. 
Assessment and Data Collection: Complete outreach tracking sheets, compile outreach summaries each semester, and collect feedback from outreach events. 
Assist with additional outreach-related tasks with prior approval from the Coordinator of Outreach Services.

Required Qualifications 
Current Baylor University student in good academic standing 
At least 1 year of experience as a student at Baylor University 
Strong interest in mental health promotion and student outreach. 
Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram) including creating, posting, and engaging with content. 
Ability to use Canva (or similar design tools) to create professional graphics for social media. 
Skill in photo and video capture and basic editing for outreach and social media purposes. 
Ability to organize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently, while seeking approval for additional outreach tasks from the Coordinator of Outreach Services. 
Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
Reliable, detail oriented, and consistent in following through on commitments. 
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all Counseling Center activities.

Pay Range: Level II - Skilled
Moderately developed skills through previous work experience or training. Responsibilities require a more complex level of organization or
technical knowledge for duties including but not limited to data analysis, coordination of projects/programs, advanced administrative
support, and other same level positions that involve the application of more complex equipment, software or routine tasks.
