SS. Cyril & Methodius School (SSCM) is a Catholic parish school in Lemont, IL, offering Pre-K through 8th grade, focused on providing a Catholic, faith-based education. The school aims to develop students spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally, emphasizing a nurturing environment and strong community. SSCM is a National Blue Ribbon School and provides a comprehensive curriculum, including specialized subjects, with the goal of preparing students for college and career readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in all core subject areas (Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) following the school’s curriculum and pacing guides.
• Prepare and implement engaging lesson plans that foster student learning and growth.
• Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents as needed.
• Communicate regularly with the principal, support staff, and parents to ensure continuity of student learning.
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and student needs.
• Uphold and model the values and teachings of the Catholic faith in word and action.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Valid teaching license or substitute teaching license.
• Teaching experience, preferably in an elementary classroom setting.
• Practicing Catholic preferred, but all candidates supportive of Catholic education and values are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create a warm, supportive, and faith-filled learning environment.

This position has a rate of $165-$175 depending on PEL Licensure. An employee’s pay within the salary/hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
