Job Description:

ACAP University College is seeking Field Education Liaison Officers (FELO) to work on a casual basis, to provide oversight and support for the student and Field Educator on placement.

The key duties of the FELO include:

  • Meet with the student and Field Educator at least twice during the placement, either on-site or via online meeting, and check in regarding the student's progress and adherence to the Learning Plan.
  • Write the mid placement FELO report documenting the student's progression.
  • Conduct an end of placement meeting with the student, facilitating critical reflection of their development while on placement.
  • Mark 3 written assessments using the online platform Sonia, working collaboratively with students and providing feedback as needed.
  • Ensure students are completing all placement requirements in accordance with the accreditation guidelines

Location is flexible. The successful applicant could be based at one of our campuses: Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide. 

Qualifications:

It is essential you can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of five years full time, post qualifying practice experience
  • Eligibility for membership of the AASW (Australian Association Social Work) and knowledge of current AASW Practice Standards (2023)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with proven ability to meet internal deadlines
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies of relevance to the work environment
  • Previous experience in overseeing Social Work Student Placements is desirable but not essential.
