Title: Fund Development Coordinator
Department: Fund Development
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Fund Development Director
Summary: Supports the daily operations of the Fund Development Department; manages event supplies; supports fundraising and special events; develops social media content
Essential Functions:
• Assists in the coordination and execution of all fundraising and special events.
• Participates in planning and implementation of Fund Development projects.
• Develops/updates marketing creatives for the agency’s major events, business services, and other special initiatives. Creative elements to be used in print (flyers, invitations, and posters) and digital (email marketing, social media, video presentation, and Facebook / Zoom Live Events).
• Supports and executes social media initiatives to create brand awareness, engage followers, and promote the agency’s special events, programs, and services.
• Responsible for purchasing and managing event and office supplies and equipment; includes ordering, distribution, and payment processing.
• Handles agency’s donor database and prospect tracking system.
• Develops media clippings reports. Manages Self-Help for the Elderly’s In the News webpage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in management, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field; a minimum of one year of experience in communications or management is preferred. Experience in Fund Development is strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Bi-literate in English and Chinese preferred.
• Great attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Familiarity with Chinese word processing strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be able to travel via public transportation or personal vehicle for the performance of job duties. If driving, must have and maintain a valid CA driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance coverage as specified in Self-Help's policy.
