Internal Redeployment Only - Placements Officer

Student Futures, part of the Student Life Division of Cardiff University, is a fast-paced department working with University colleagues, students, and employers to provide a service that enhances student employability and improves graduate outcomes.

Working as part of the Student Futures team based in the Business School, the focus of this role is to ensure that students can undertake high-quality placements and projects as part of their studies. The role will involve liaising with academic staff to understand their requirements and collaborating with a wide range of employers to source relevant and exciting opportunities. Once established, you will support students before, during and after their placement or project, ensuring they have an excellent experience.

You will primarily be responsible for delivering services at postgraduate level, but you will also support projects and initiatives for undergraduate students, working closely with the rest of the Placements Team. You will use data management systems to manage the end-to-end processes involved in setting up, monitoring, and evaluating placements and be required to report on progress against annual objectives and targets.

This is a really exciting time to join Student Futures as the demand for placements and projects increases across the Business School. As well as getting to work with an experienced and reputable team, you will be given plenty of support and autonomy to manage your workload, enhance placement provision and be innovative in your work.

The role can be undertaken on a flexible basis, so there will be opportunities to work from home and from the office, although you may be expected to be in the office more during peak periods.

If you would like to have an informal discussion to find out more about this post, please contact Alex Hicks (Placements Manager) by emailing [email protected].

The post is full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended.

Salary: £33,951 - £36,636 per annum (Grade 5)
