Maintenance Manager – Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager to lead all aspects of maintenance operations for our large-scale poultry facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our equipment and infrastructure. You’ll oversee a skilled team of mechanics and technicians, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement across maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Equipment Oversight
Lead the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of physical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.

Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of mechanics. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence.

Budget & Performance Management
Monitor key metrics including cost per pound and M&R budgets. Utilize tools like Agristats for financial analysis and reporting.

Safety & Compliance
Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with USDA regulations, HACCP protocols, sanitation standards, and pre-operational guidelines.

Operational Readiness
Coordinate weekend rebuilds and manage M&R vendor activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in maintenance, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success managing shift operations or large-scale maintenance teams.
  • Poultry industry experience preferred; manufacturing leadership experience required if no poultry background.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, USDA sanitation regulations, and maintenance-related financial analysis.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and vendor management.
