We are looking for a Software Engineer. The primary purpose is to code, test unit and implement software updates to core IBMi systems platform.  This includes maintenance of DB2 database tables, queries to extract data from the databases and quality assurance of all code changes made to the platform.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Code and Maintain RPG, CL and SQL code on IBMi platform, per business requirements.
• Unit test code changes to eliminate obvious issues prior to assigning to Business Analyst for QA testing.
• Trouble-shoot existing code and identify root cause of systems issues.
• After hours support should critical systems fail.  This includes periodically serving in primary on call role.
• Document processes in Confluence for future reference.
• Track progress and hours worked in Jira to facilitate project tracking.
• Provide guidance and support to internal customers who need to extract and utilize the core IBMi data.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery simulation weekends.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•  Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments based on priorities set by management.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities due to business need.

• Looks for innovative ways to improve the systems and processes being supported.
• Shares knowledge with team members to facilitate continuous improvement of system processes.
