POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Middleware and Data Engineering is responsible for leading a team of technical professionals who design, develop, and support FullBeauty’s database, integration, and middleware solutions. This role ensures secure, scalable, and high-performing data services that power our digital platforms and business intelligence, while fostering team growth, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of middleware and data engineering professionals, including performance management, workload balancing, and skills development.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and support of database, middleware, and data pipeline solutions that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
- Partner with Web, Analytics, and Application teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data architecture and integration workflows.
- Manage and prioritize support requests, product enhancements, and defect resolution based on business impact and urgency.
- Monitor system performance, data quality, and job execution, ensuring proactive issue resolution and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance, security, and performance standards are met.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing best practices for database design, ETL pipelines, middleware configurations, and cloud architecture.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support release/change management processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in IT team management (preferably in e-commerce or online retail) and 10+ years total IT experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; adept at managing cross-functional projects and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certifications preferred.

- Snowflake (data warehouse)
- Matillion (ETL/ELT pipelines)
- AWS Lambda and broader AWS services
- SQL Server, Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS)
- SAS (analytics/reporting)
- API integrations, job orchestration, and data governance best practices
