About the Department

Summary
The Intramural Esports Administrator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing the JCC Intramural Esports program. This position fosters a competitive and inclusive environment for students, manages daily program operations, organizes events, and promotes student engagement in esports. The administrator works closely with the Director of Athletics to ensure the program’s success and growth.

Position Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities other duties as assigned
• Plan, organize, and manage all intramural esports leagues, tournaments, and special events. 
• Recruit, register, and communicate with student participants for various esports titles. 
• Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of gaming spaces and equipment.
• Develop seasonal schedules and coordinate event logistics. 
• Promote the program through campus outreach, flyers, email campaigns, and social media.
• Monitor competitions to ensure fair play, adherence to rules, and positive sportsmanship.
• Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to increase participation. 
• Track participation data and prepare regular reports for the Director of Athletics.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not directly supervise full-time employees but may oversee volunteers, student leaders, or event staff during tournaments and special events.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

Education Minimum: High School Diploma. Currently enrolled at a 2-year college or 4-year university working towards obtaining an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

Education Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Experience Minimum: 1–2 years of experience in esports coaching, recruiting, or program involvement.

Experience Preferred: 2–4 years of experience in esports coaching, recruiting, or program involvement.

Other Qualifications

Language: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences including students, families, coaches, and institutional personnel.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math proficiency required for record-keeping and academic tracking of current student-athletes and new recruits.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to assess talent, manage multiple priorities, and resolve problems efficiently. Must demonstrate discretion, judgment, and professionalism when interacting with prospective student-athletes and their families. 

Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with recruiting software, live-streaming platforms (Twitch, YouTube Gaming), OBS or similar broadcasting tools, database management systems, and esports tournament management software (such as Battlefy or Smash.gg).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license preferred.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands for typing and operating gaming equipment. The position may require moving or lifting up to 25 pounds of equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for screen work and occasional distance vision for event supervision.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is primarily performed indoors in an office or gaming facility environment, with occasional outdoor activities for events.

Noise levels may vary from quiet to moderately loud depending on gaming activities and tournaments.
