Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking for a Clinical Supervisor to join our team at the San Marco office. The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for the clinical staff and daily operations of the clinic. The position is full-time with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and 401K retirement plan.

Location: 1325 San Marco Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207

Schedule:  Monday- Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate clinical coverage for all Physicians’ and their PA/NP staff.  Including vacation coverage, last minute absences, and the Procedure Room coverage.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinics ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved through courteous and effective communication, problem solving and efficient processes.
  • Assist surgery schedulers in OR issues or provide coverage when scheduler is out.
  • Provides assistance to the practice manager when needed.
  • Handles physician’s issues when needed.
  • Assist with payroll Time and Attendance correcting critical exceptions and missed punches.
  • Council employees and educate on proper procedures including sterilization techniques.
  • Assist HR Director coordinate flu vaccines and TB tests for all San Marco employees, the Call Center and all PT Centers.
  • Schedules yearly Biohazardous Safety Meetings for all clinical staff.
  • Schedules yearly HIPAA training for all San Marco Staff and the Business office.
  • Assists Physicians with various projects and/or issues.
  • Orders all the Visco supplementation therapy and maintains a log of usage in the clinics.
  • Assist patients with complaints or issues either by phone or in person.
  • Resolves billing issues when wrong tests have been ordered.
  • Picks up monthly birthday cake for employees.
  • Coordinates drug representatives provide samples and/or education for providers and patients.
  • Implement work orders for Plant Facility or Property Management.
  • Completes yearly evaluations and reviews with physician and staff members.
  • Responsible for administration of disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Position Requirements 

  • 7 - 10 years of medical experience in a physician’s office required.
  • Orthopaedic experience a plus.
  • Strong medical terminology knowledge required.
  • Strong grammar, punctuation, and syntax skills are needed.
  • High school or GED required. Associates preferred.
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Able to take control of any situation at hand.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians and staff.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Effective computer skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPPA and OSHA guidelines/regulations.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm (schedules may vary based on the clinic’s needs).  

Working Conditions 

Fast paced orthopedic medical practice environment.   Occasional overtime may be required.

 Physical Demands

 Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone. 

 Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens. 

 Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.   

 Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking and sitting.

 Requires pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
