Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Revenue Manager to lead our revenue recognition and reporting function. This role will oversee the accurate application of ASC 606, manage a team of revenue accountants, and partner cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure revenue is recognized properly and timely. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to implement scalable processes in a high-growth environment.
What you will do
- Lead the revenue accounting team, providing direction, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Own the month-end and quarter-end revenue close process, including preparation and review of revenue entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards, including drafting and maintaining revenue recognition policies.
- Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, and Legal to review complex contracts and assess revenue implications.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of revenue accounting operations.
- Manage external audits related to revenue and support internal controls compliance.
- Collaborate with FP&A and business leaders to provide insights into revenue trends, forecasts, and reporting.
What you will have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a revenue recognition or technical accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and related guidance.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise (e.g., NetSuite, RevPro/ARM, ZoneBilling, Salesforce RevCloud, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice to have
- CPA (strongly preferred).
- Big 4 public accounting background (strongly preferred).
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or subscription-based businesses.
- Prior experience working in a pre-IPO or public company environment.
- Hands-on experience with revenue automation tools and dashboards.
