We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician (Contractor) to support our Facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of our spa and salon locations. This is a hands-on contractor position where you’ll complete day-to-day maintenance tasks, preventative work, and coordinate with outside contractors when specialized support is required. The schedule is evening to late-night (M–F, 4pm–12:30am), and occasional overnight work may be expected to minimize disruption to daily operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Perform routine facility maintenance, including changing air filters, light bulbs, and minor electrical repairs (e.g., replacing dimmers, light fixtures).
• Complete minor plumbing repairs such as fixing leaky sinks, clogged drains, toilets, and replacing faucets.
• Conduct painting, millwork repairs (wood/laminate damage, hinges), and general cosmetic upkeep.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks, such as cleaning air vents, washing machine filters, grout care, and refinishing or deep cleaning floors.
• Support overall facility cleanliness by assisting with deep cleaning projects and maintaining storefront presentation.
• Perform repairs and replacements (e.g., sinks, countertops) and assist with special projects as assigned.
• Help transport and organize materials or supplies across multiple locations.
• Manage and prioritize work orders through platforms like Freshdesk.
• Build and maintain a network of reliable contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
• Obtain and oversee bids for larger or outsourced projects.
• Coordinate after-hours work when necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Balance hands-on repair work with delegation to outside trades as needed

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the maintenance field or similar role. 
• Valid driver’s license (We will provide a maintenance vehicle).
• Ability to be bonded or insured.
• Ability to travel to all Austin locations: Arboretum, 2nd Street, Hill Country Galleria, The Loren, and South Lamar. 
• Able to perform maintenance work including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, painting, and common repairs.

Special Considerations:

• Ability to perform evening, late nights, and occasional overnight or after-hours work to complete maintenance and repair tasks with minimal disruption to daily operations.
• Must adhere to all policies and procedures expected of milk + honey Partisans.
• Must adhere to any and all protocol changes issued by management.
• Ability to sustain reasonable physical activity for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
