Central Management Office Dallas Additional Information: Show/Hide - Collaborate with the Multilingual team to write and develop Literacy curriculum and resources that are aligned to the paired literacy framework and that support simultaneous biliteracy instruction within early childhood education contexts.
- Develop, revise, and maintain PK–2 curriculum documents in both English and Spanish, including ELD lesson plans, assessments, and instructional supports for ELAR/SLAR and Spanish-language IB resources that promote early childhood development and elementary readiness.
- Ensure all curriculum materials are fully aligned to Uplift’s Scope and Sequence, TEKS, ELPS, and the IB framework, and that they support the 80/20 language allocation model while addressing early childhood developmental domains.
- Integrate cross-linguistic connections and simultaneous biliteracy development strategies into all curriculum documents to promote metalinguistic awareness and academic language growth in both languages.
- Lead development and adaptation of curriculum resources to ensure instructional equity and access in both program languages.
- Ensure all finalized curriculum documents are published and maintained equitably on the network’s curriculum platforms (e.g., Toddle, Intranet, or other LMS), with consistency across English and Spanish materials.
- Collaborate with campus leaders, teachers, content experts, and C&I team members to develop curriculum that is culturally and linguistically responsive, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate.
- Partner with the Multilingual team to embed language supports and dual language best practices within instructional materials and professional development.
- Support vertical alignment and coherence in literacy, language, and IB content across English and Spanish instruction.
- Champion equitable access to instructional resources, ensuring that dual language teachers have the tools, training, and support needed to meet the academic and linguistic needs of Emergent Bilingual students.
- Facilitate professional development aligned to early biliteracy, foundational phonemic awareness, phonics, and dual language instructional best practices.
- Provide whole group, small group, and one-on-one coaching to school leaders and teachers to strengthen implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Develop coaching tools to support planning for bridging, language objectives, and translanguaging practices.
- Collaborate with the Multilingual team to co-develop and deliver PD sessions that align with compliance and instructional excellence.
- Design and support the implementation of assessments in both English and Spanish that are aligned to content standards and appropriate for dual language learners.
- Monitor and analyze assessment data (formative, summative, and language proficiency) to inform instruction, refine curriculum, and identify areas for intervention.
- Partner with campus leaders and the Data team to disaggregate and track scholar performance across linguistic subgroups and develop equitable strategies for academic growth.
- Monitor and support curriculum implementation through classroom observations, coaching cycles, and collaborative planning.
- Analyze student data (formative, summative, language proficiency) to guide instructional planning and intervention.
- Provide targeted support for schools with identified needs to accelerate student outcomes.
- Collaborate with campus leaders to deliver data-informed, job-embedded PD that is aligned to IB and Uplift expectations.
- Supports identification and reclassification testing for Emergent Bilinguals. Including the Beginning of the year, End of year, and the Welcome to Uplift Day.
- Engage in Dual Language and/or ESL Cohorts, as appropriate, twice monthly with the Multilingual Managers to receive professional development- additional collaboration opportunities to be arranged upon request of either team.
- Participate in monthly network observations in partnership with the Dual Language team
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university required
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Reading, or related field preferred
- Instructional coaching certification or training preferred
- International Baccalaureate experience preferred
- Must have a valid Texas Teacher Certification with endorsement in Bilingual and/or ESL education.
- If no Bilingual certification, must have equivalent experience with biliteracy curriculum development.
- Minimum three years of classroom teaching experience in elementary literacy or dual language
- Experience working with Dual Language or Bilingual programs required
- Formal school leadership experience (Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, Instructional Coach) preferred
- Leadership experience providing teachers and leaders with content-specific professional development
- Demonstrated and measurable student achievement in literacy on state assessments
- Experience with adult learning principles and coaching methodologies
- Experience in individual teacher needs assessment and customized support planning
- Deep knowledge of the Science of Teaching Reading, evidence-based literacy practices, and specialized strategies for supporting emergent bilingual and multilingual learners
- Strong instructional leadership and coaching skills with expertise in adult learning principles
