What You'll be Doing:

Implement mathematics routines, hands-on mathematics activities, games, and/or basic fact fluency-building activities during the after school program
Participate in all training related to the school-aged programs component area you will be implementing
Assist with organizing and maintaining mathematics manipulatives and preparing materials for activities, as needed
Work with Program Coordinator to plan mathematics activities that you will be implementing, as needed
Incorporate one hour of planning time into weekly schedule to prepare for programming
Assist in administering pre- and post-STAR Mathematics™, unit, and other assessments, as appropriate
Submit group attendance to the Program Coordinator as designated by program policy
Lead administering pre- and post- assessments including, STAR Mathematics™, and identifying students in need of interventions, as appropriate
Work with identified children struggling in mathematics in grades K-1 who would benefit from small group assistance in mathematics

Job Details:

Working days: 4 days per week
Hours per day: 2.5 hours
Temporary for the 2025.2026 school year

What We Offer:

Pay: $45.00 per hour or per diem, whichever is lower
Supplemental Contract

What You'll Need:

Education: Bachelors from an accredited college or university in job-related area.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Must have a Washington State Teaching Certificate. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria.
Minimum qualifications: Relates well with students, parents and peers. Must have excellent classroom control. Willingness and ability to work in a team environment. Willingness and ability to work at district and building level in developing curriculum. An enthusiastic, creative and resourceful motivator of students. Willingness to work with students outside the classroom environment, i.e. club advisor, class advisor, etc. Present a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times. Must be goal oriented (long range and short range).

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
