Joining the Human Resource team at CoStar Group, you will contribute to the creation of a highly successful, fast paced, growth-oriented, global organization.  Our people’s vision and strategy are aligned with CoStar Group’s overall business objectives, and the primary objective of this role is to partner with functional leaders/managers and other HR stakeholders to maximize their effectiveness in leading highly successful and engaged teams across your client group.  In addition, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and consultant to business leaders, with a specialized focus on supporting non-exempt (hourly) employee populations. This role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive and productive work environment for frontline teams. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide guidance on managing non-exempt employee issues including attendance, timekeeping, overtime, and workplace conduct. 
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, state-specific labor laws, and internal policies related to hourly employees. 
  • Partner with managers to address performance concerns, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Educate managers on proper time entry, approval processes, and overtime management. 
  • Monitor trends in absenteeism, tardiness, and off-the-clock work; intervene as needed to ensure policy adherence 
  • Deliver training to new people managers on best practices for managing employees 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on organizational design, team dynamics, and employee engagement. 
  • Leverage HR dashboards and tools to provide insights on turnover, engagement, and compliance metrics. 
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement programs and policies that support the unique needs of non-exempt employees. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College; HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred. 
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years supporting non-exempt or hourly employee populations. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices related to wage and hour compliance. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and timekeeping platforms. 

 

Preferred Attributes 

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years supporting non-exempt or hourly employee populations  
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices related to wage and hour compliance. 
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment such as sales, customer service, or operations. 
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with frontline employees and leadership alike. 
  • Passion for creating inclusive, respectful, and compliant workplaces.
