The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Create and expand the awareness of College of DuPage offerings within the community and District 502 high schools; provide information to new and prospective students regarding admission to the college and the educational opportunities available to them. Emphasis on outreach to high school students that live in District 502 and are assigned to District 502 high schools, adult students within the DuPage community, DuPage County community-based organizations, non-for-profit organizations, and cultural-based organizations.

  • Represent College of DuPage at college fairs, high school visits, community events and other public service programs and events. Schedule all travel activities and logistics for these events.
  • Manage focused area of recruitment, cultivate relationships with external constituents such as prospective high school students, adult students, guidance counselors, local families, and representatives from community-based organizations.
  • Assist in the development of annual recruitment plans, which includes specific and measurable objectives, strategies, specific target populations and designated recruitment territories.
  • Participate and lead general information sessions to groups of prospective adult and high school students and their families, responding to individual questions and concerns.
  • This position will handle any number of admissions projects, including those associated with marketing and enrollment communications, diversity recruitment, campus visitation, Enrollment Days, program specified receptions, admissions ambassadors, and scholars’ awards.
  • This position will require up to 4-6 weeks of in-person (and virtual) recruitment travel a year.
  • Visit designated high schools no less than twice a semester with occasional visits encouraged.
  • Develop, collect, analyze, and report on data from assigned territory travel and scheduled events.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible as duties are assigned across a number of admissions-sponsored recruitment initiatives: annual open houses, high school visits, first generation student session, program spotlights and admitted student receptions.
  • Evaluate qualifications and make admissions decisions for Early Admission students; interpret placement test results and provide course selection assistance.
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the enrollment funnel for prospective students within assigned territory ensuring that all students are guided through the Five Steps to Enrollment.
  • Provide high quality service in all interactions with high school counselors, prospective students, community members and community agencies.
  • Analyze current and historical admissions trends within designated territory and develop and implement strategies to surpass enrollment goals
  • Weekend and evening availability is expected throughout the year for some aspects of the position including application review, travel, and admissions events.
  • Utilize CRM Recruit to maintain updated records and communication with students, parents and school counselors
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree required.
      • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Student Service Personnel or relevant area preferred.
    • Experience
      • Two (2) years of admissions experience or related position which required development and coordination of outreach activities and use of database or inquiry management system required; previous community college experience especially admissions or student affairs preferred.
      • Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
      • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
      • Demonstrated strategic planning, follow-up and organizational skills required; case management skills, flexibility, strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated required.
      • Demonstrated ability to understand multicultural perspectives as applied to student recruitment.

    Working Conditions:

  • Computer, FAX, copier, laptop computer, computer projector.
  • While the majority of the work is done sitting or standing, the ability to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds is also necessary.
  • Must deliver materials to businesses and community locations in own car.
  • Must be able to walk distances and climb stairs with college materials.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel with nights and weekends required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Criminal background check is required for this position.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.

    Hiring Range:
    8 Salary/Starting salary beginning at $49, 640, based on experience.
