Position Summary
WWC Engineering is seeking a motivated Surveyor (LS Candidate / UAV & GIS Specialist) to join our Wyoming team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual pursuing Land Surveyor licensure who is eager to combine traditional surveying skills with cutting-edge UAV and GIS technologies.
what you'll do
- Conduct field surveys to establish property boundaries, topographic features, and control networks.
- Research historical maps, deeds, and boundary evidence.
- Draft plats, exhibits, and engineering base maps in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Collect and process survey data, UAV imagery, and GIS mapping deliverables.
- Operate survey instruments, UAV drones, GPS, scanners, and related field equipment.
- Process drone imagery for topographic mapping and 3D modeling.
- Apply GIS tools to analyze and present spatial data.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients on survey findings.
- Assist in training and mentoring survey technicians.
- Maintain survey equipment inventory and ensure safe operation of field equipment.

qualification
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- On professional path toward Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in Wyoming (not required at hire).
- Experience in survey fieldwork, GIS mapping, drafting, and UAV operations.
Physical & Travel Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work may require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
- Must be able to safely operate vehicles, ATVs/UTVs, and survey equipment in varied field environments.
- Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing is required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Anticipate hiring range of $77,000/85,000 annually and may vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications. The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting
