Your Role as a Building Trades Project Manager
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of Division 9 scopes of work, overseeing multiple projects from pre-construction through closeout. Your work will directly impact the successful delivery of complex finish packages, including framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, painting, flooring, specialties, and other architectural finishes.
You'll manage daily construction operations, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure all deliverables meet quality, safety, and federal compliance standards. With a focus on cost control, scheduling, and stakeholder communication, you'll be a key driver in delivering high-quality interior work on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple large-scale Division 9 projects, primarily for military and federal clients
Oversee all phases of construction, including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout
Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, government officials, QA/QC teams, and internal stakeholders
Maintain and track project schedules using Primavera or equivalent software
Ensure strict compliance with federal construction standards, jobsite safety, and quality assurance protocols
Prepare and negotiate subcontractor agreements and ensure contract adherence
Problem-solve and proactively address field issues to minimize project delays
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Ability to manage multiple Building Trades projects simultaneously
- Leadership, and management of teams
- Maintaining costs and adhering to budget
- Monitoring schedules and forecasts
- Managing various subcontractors
Qualifications Include:
- A BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is the minimum formal education required for this position. A combination of equivalent work experience and training in the field may be qualifying.
- Two or more years of experience in commercial project management required. Commercial Division 9 work preferred.
- Six or more years or equivalent work experience as a Project Engineer and APM (or equivalent) in the construction industry required. Work experience in the design/build industry preferred.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft office, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Specific Software preferred (Oncenter, Quickbid, Primavera, Oracle, Autodesk Build, BIM, Revit)
- LEED GA Credential or AP/AP+ preferred.
