Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Onsite Tech Support / Desktop Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in our New York Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for resolving all laptop and desktop related issues, assisting with video conference systems, and providing efficient support to all office tech needs. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage hardware setups, provide remote assistance, and ensure seamless technology operations within the office.

Responsibilities:

Laptop and Desktop Support:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues on laptops and desktops.

  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure systems are running optimally.

  • Configure and install new systems according to company standards.

  • Working with OEMS for maintenance and repairs

  • Working with IT helpdesk and other IT support members and teams for Day to Day IT issues, supporting process.

  • Hands and eye support for office equipment’s, servers, network systems.

  • Ability to support and manage the onsite Audio and Visual systems.

Video Conference Support:

  • Set up and provide ongoing support for video conferencing systems.

  • Assist employees with video conference tools and troubleshoot any issues during meetings.

Remote Support:

  • Configure laptops for remote access and provide technical support to remote workers.

  • Use remote support tools to resolve issues promptly.

Inventory and Configuration:

  • Manage the inventory of laptops and desktops, ensuring optimal stock levels.

  • Store and configure systems as per departmental requirements.

  • Assist security protocols for storage and transportation of devices.

Office Technology Handling:

  • Address all technology-related issues in the office, including network connectivity, peripheral devices, and software applications.

  • Collaborate with external vendors when required for specialized support.

  • Must be able to handle equipment’s and carry or move them with weight of up to 20 to 25 pounds.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate documentation for all technical processes and procedures.

  • Document troubleshooting steps to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware and software configurations.

  • Familiarity with video conference software and tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

  • Experience with remote support and configuration management.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time, onsite presence required.

  • Fast-paced office setting with collaborative team support.

Pay:

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Up to $95,000. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Benefits:

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time.  You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company.  In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms.   The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a “free time” PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
