London Borough of Harrow has a fantastic opportunity for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join its Children and Young People Service.
Working as part of the Quality Assurance division, you must ensure the development of high-quality practice for children looked after that meets national and locally set performance targets, in addition to monitoring the quality of practice for children looked after by way of scrutinising children’s care plans, audit and to challenge practice which does not meet required national and local standards.
The post holder will be responsible for chairing Children Looked After (CLA) statutory reviews, as well as Child Protection (CP) Conferences when needed, in addition to ensuring that care plans, child protection plans and timescales reflect the needs of each individual child.
We are looking for someone who can apply information from research and developmental initiatives to the work of Children Services in promoting best practice for children who are looked after, or subject of child protection plans, whilst promoting practice which is sensitive to the needs of children, including consideration of ethnicity and culture.
About you:To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:
- Monitoring quality of care and planning for Children Looked After.
- Contribute to policy making and producing procedures or guidance.
- Monitoring standards and outcomes for Children Looked After.
- Case auditing and reporting areas of strengths and areas for improvement to staff and managers.
- To contribute to the rolling programme of inducting and training of staff in respect to Children Looked After processes.
