To support the Art and Design teaching team and students to ensure the studios and classrooms are safe and fully stocked, whilst also supporting students within an open studio environment outside of timetabled lessons.

Key Responsibilities
- To support teaching staff in the delivery innovative practical workshop sessions across a diverse range of materials /applications and across all levels and programmes as required.
- To prepare samples, test pieces and demonstrations as specified by the lecturer across specific disciplines but not limited to Fine Art and sculpture.
- Induct students on the safe working practices across various studio’s, including 3D/sculpture. To provide technical support and practical advice to enable students to realise their ideas three dimensionally/ spatially.
- To facilitate the support for woodworking and carpentry for across the strand, using power tools and machinery (band saw, compound mitre saw, various woodwork hand tools).
- To be confident and experienced with the use of hand and power tools to support the mounting of student work across the college, support students, and contribute effectively to the preparation and creation of college exhibitions.
- To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.
- To assist with the operational requirements of the Department throughout the academic year, i.e. open days, end of year exhibitions and other events.
- To be approachable and supportive to all staff and students, welcoming an environment that motivates and inspires learners.
- Work collaboratively within a team of technicians across various disciplines

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Qualified to degree level in one of The subject areas highlighted below 3D / Sculpture.
- A personal commitment to keeping your professional knowledge up to date and improving your capabilities.
- A willingness to undertake staff development, additional subject training and skills updating in line with professional standards.
- A comprehensive knowledge of 3D making processes and construction techniques.
