Finance Analyst – Corporate FP&A
Overview:
As a Finance Analyst supporting BioMarin’s corporate functions, you will play a pivotal role in financial planning, reporting, and decision support. With two years of experience, you are expected to bring a strong analytical foundation and an evolving strategic perspective to help drive business insights and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with finance colleagues and cross-functional business partners to deliver high-quality reporting and analysis that supports organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Modeling: Deliver recurring and ad hoc analyses to provide visibility into financial performance. Communicate key variances against the annual operating plan (AOP) and prior forecasts, and support business partners with insights that inform decision-making.
- Management Reporting: Lead the preparation and distribution of monthly and quarterly reporting packages. Partner with stakeholders to enhance reporting tools and visualizations, and work closely with business partners to understand underlying drivers and future implications.
- Planning & Forecasting: Contribute to the development of annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts. Analyze spend by activity type, program, and sub-function, and provide insights on trends and variances. Collaborate with cost center managers to assess risks, opportunities, and potential trade-offs.
- Business Partnership: Build and maintain strong relationships with functional leaders, serving as a trusted finance partner. Translate business activities into financial impacts and provide recommendations to support planning, and prioritization.
- Process Improvement: Identify and support enhancements to financial processes, reporting workflows, and system tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or related finance roles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including data visualization
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Solid analytical and financial modeling skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and reporting platforms
