Job Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for securing new business and strengthening relationships within an assigned territory. This role serves as a technical consultant to customers, providing expert guidance on products, services, and solutions that meet their operational needs. The Sales Representative develops and grows the territory through proactive outreach, accurate estimating for product installation and repair services. Success in this role requires maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge of the company’s offerings and delivering exceptional customer support throughout the sales cycle.
Essential Functions
- Develop and grow the assigned sales territory by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and long-term loyalty.
- Serve as a technical consultant, advising customers on product selection, system functionality, and service options.
- Prepare and deliver accurate estimates.
- Present, explain, and promote service contracts and maintenance agreements to customers, if applicable.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all company products, services, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including service and operations, to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Track sales activity and opportunities using CRM tools and regularly report progress toward sales goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This role operates primarily in the field, with frequent automotive travel to customer sites within a defined local metro area.
- Sales Representatives spend significant time driving, conducting face-to-face meetings, and visiting active job sites, which may involve exposure to commercial or industrial environments.
- The position may also require time working from a home office or company location for administrative tasks, planning, and team meetings.
- The role requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; operate a motor vehicle safely; and occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
Travel
- Occasional overnight travel may be required, primarily limited to attendance at the annual sales team meeting or other industry events.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in sales, particularly in industrial, technical, or B2B environments, is preferred.
