Our East Syracuse, NY laboratory is looking for full-time, permanent Air Quality Sensor Technician to join our team! This hands-on role is critical to the assembly, calibration, and troubleshooting of advanced air quality monitoring units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical components, sensor technology, and product design, with a passion for precision and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble air quality sensor units according to engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Calibrate sensors to ensure accurate environmental readings
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty units and components
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve product performance and reliability
  • Maintain documentation of assembly procedures, calibration data, and repair logs
  • Conduct functional and environmental testing of units
  • Support field deployments and provide technical assistance as needed
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with electrical components and sensor systems
  • Strong understanding of circuit design, soldering, and diagnostic tools
  • Experience with calibration techniques and environmental testing equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Comfortable working in a lab and light manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with air quality monitoring technologies (e.g., particulate matter, VOCs, CO₂ sensors)
  • Experience with embedded systems or firmware testing
  • Knowledge of data logging and wireless communication protocols (e.g., BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi)
  • CAD or PCB design experience is a plus

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00-$25.00.  This position is eligible for overtime pay.
