About the Role:

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential for the smooth operation of the food service environment, as it directly impacts the efficiency of the kitchen staff and the overall dining experience for customers. The Dishwasher will be responsible for adhering to health and safety regulations while performing their duties, contributing to a safe and hygienic workplace. By efficiently managing the dishwashing process, the Dishwasher helps to minimize wait times for customers and supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality meals. Ultimately, this role is vital for upholding the establishment's reputation for cleanliness and service excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
  • Experience in a food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash.
  • Assist in the preparation of food items as needed, following instructions from kitchen staff.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring proper sanitization and hygiene practices are followed.

Skills:

The required skills for this position, such as basic reading and following instructions, are essential for understanding cleaning protocols and safety guidelines. Sanitization skills are utilized daily to ensure that all kitchenware is properly cleaned, preventing contamination and promoting a safe dining experience. The ability to lift and carry heavy items is crucial for moving large pots, pans, and stacks of dishes efficiently. Standing for extended periods is a regular part of the job, as the Dishwasher will be on their feet throughout their shift, ensuring a steady workflow.
