Position Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team is focused on industrial hygiene, safety engineering, environmental stewardship, fire protection, and occupational health. In the Environmental Engineer role, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, industry working groups and regulators to ensure compliance with company, state and federal requirements.As an Environmental Engineer within the EHS Department, you will be responsible for supporting permitting, regulatory compliance and operation of industrial wastewater systems including but not limited to: Activated Sludge, Multi Media Filters, Reverse Osmosis, Ion Exchange, Ultra filtration, Brine Concentrator, Crystallizers, Boilers, Centrifuges, Heat Exchangers, Biological Nutrient Removers (BNR) and Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) systems in such manner as to ensure optimal facility operations.
Role and Responsibilities
Ability to support wastewater treatment permitting and compliance at an industrial manufacturing facility, including construction, commissioning and future operations.
Manage environmental permit modification and renewal process at the Taylor facility. Ensure that all applicable permits are in place and up-to-date. Review permits and communicate requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor and assess facility practices to ensure that permit requirements are met, including reviewing and preparing monitoring reports. Candidate will have strong problem solving capabilities, ability to institute new and innovative solutions as well as maintain environmental compliance for one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States.
Ability to technically analyze data and interpret appropriate outcomes based on regulatory information.
Strong technical background in wastewater treatment, waste, chemistry, and chemical processes. Wastewater experience in Semiconductor processes is preferred.
Self-motivated and driven environmental professional who is committed to driving positive change and impact reduction within a fast paced organization.
Highly capable of leading and managing long-term, technical projects involving coordination with multiple associated internal and external parties.
Ability to solve complex problems and develop work plans to meet internal customer and regulatory requirements.
Capable of establishing and accomplishing objectives within specified time-frames with little management oversight.
Networking with industry professionals and regulatory entities to disseminate best practices and learnings within the organization.
Utilize industry knowledge and technical expertise to adapt regulatory procedures and practices to complex problems.
Skills and Qualifications
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
5+ years of experience in environmental and compliance program management associated with water, waste and chemicals regulations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or closely related field.
P.E. is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools:
Highly experienced and trained in interpreting and applying regulatory language of 40 CFR and 30 TAC.
Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance relative to wastewater treatment processes.
Experience in industrial (preferably microelectronics) wastewater treatment.
