About the Role
We are seeking a People Associate who is passionate about excellence, brings a positive and collaborative attitude, and is eager to learn and grow. In this role, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting a wide range of HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, workplace operations, and culture initiatives. Your focus will be on delivering an outstanding employee experience while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across all People operations. This position reports directly to our Head of People.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the friendly face of onboarding and offboarding, making sure new hires feel welcomed from day one and departing employees leave on a positive note.
- Assist the Head of People to keep benefits programs running smoothly.
- Support payroll to make sure everyone gets paid accurately and on time - because nothing says “HR hero” like a smooth payday.
- Keep employee records organized and up to date, balancing accuracy and compliance with a keen eye for detail.
- Act as a go-to resource for employees, answering questions with discretion, empathy, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
- Support culture-building initiatives, engagement programs, and events that make our team feel connected and energized.
- Help build HR policies and processes that are clear, fair, and current, stepping in on updates when needed.
- Pitch in on workplace operations, from stocking snacks to coordinating team activities, making sure the office feels like a great place to work.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in HR, People Ops, or a similar role (bonus points if you’ve thrived in the organized chaos of a startup).
- A working knowledge of HR policies, confidentiality, and compliance, but also the good judgment to know when to ask questions.
- A sharp eye for detail and the ability to catch errors in a sea of data - you love double-checking your work and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and rolling with the punches in a fast-paced environment, all while keeping things positive and approachable.
- Great communication and people skills - you enjoy connecting with employees across all levels and building trust.
- Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems; experience with HRIS platforms and Google Workspace (extra kudos if you’ve played with tools like Rippling or BambooHR).
- Beginner-level Excel skills, but excited to level up and learn more advanced data tricks.
- Proactive, resourceful, and motivated to create an awesome employee experience.
- Above all, someone who shows up with a can-do attitude, a willingness to adapt, and a desire to connect - because you know HR is about people first.
