  • This job is a member of the Distribution Strategy team within the Revenue Engineering Division. 
  • ​Responsible for developing strategies, maintaining relationships, and negotiating contracts with the following: Global Distribution Systems (GDS), online booking tools (OBT), American's New Distribution Capability connections (NDC), and the distribution components of Travel Management Companies (TMC) and large corporations.

What you'll do

  • ​Own and strengthen key relationships with major GDS partners through account management
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes for GDS and NDC distribution
  • Support GDS and NDC negotiations by contributing to economic modeling and strategic analysis
  • Identify, analyze, and quantify strategic opportunities—financial, commercial, or operational—for Distribution Strategy
  • Collaborate closely with teams across Global Sales, Finance, Revenue Management, Digital, AAdvantage, IT, and other departments to assess risks and opportunities related to product distribution and business plans
  • Develop a deep understanding of cost-driving processes and products to inform and influence decision-making
  • Present analysis and recommendations clearly and concisely to all levels of leadership and external stakeholders
  • Create and execute communication plans in partnership with Sales Support, B2B Marketing, and Corporate Communications
  • Develop and lead internal training sessions focused on Distribution initiatives
  • Contribute to broader commercial initiatives on both an ongoing and ad hoc basis

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years related experience
  • Experience with SQL

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in Revenue Management, Sales, or Finance

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Proven analytical expertise and ability to effectively structure and communicate financial data for business consideration and decision making
  • Strong business acumen, including analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple way
  • Ability to be a strategic thinker
  • Ability to create structure and drive progress in an ambiguous environment
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools – Tableau, SQL, Cognos
