Toledo Tool & Die is adding CNC Wire Benders to our team to support our continued growth.
This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio.
Hours for this position are typically:
Mid-Shift: 10AM-8PM, Monday-Thursday

Job summary:
The CNC Bender Operator will set Up and operate CNC benders and perform multiple bending and cold forming operations. CNC Bender operations involve set-ups, tool changes, and adjustments per part specifications. The CNC Operator will make first piece and hourly inspections and ensure the parts maintain the print dimension when finished. Provide accurate and timely setting of CNC Wire Bending Machine to process finished goods that meet or exceed customer specifications.
Summary of essential job functions
- Inspect fixtures before setup to ensure no foreign debris is present, so not to make poor quality parts.
- Remove, install, and align heading dies and form tooling. Load steel wire and tubing into CNC Wire Bender according to specifications / instructions.
- Ensure 1st off pieces are disposed of properly in red buckets and that finished goods containers are not able to have suspect parts go into them (conveyor diversion, etc.).
- Start CNC Wire Bender to produce finished goods and observe operations to detect malfunctions and to verify set-up conforms to specifications and to obtain 1st piece sample(s).
- Review 1st piece samples visually for defects and then use check fixture to confirm 1st pieces are ready for quality approval.
- Coordinate with Quality Auditor for 1st piece verification and review findings.
- Inspect equipment, dies or materials to help troubleshoot and identify the cause of errors, other problems or defects and correct/fix problems accordingly and correctly.
- Complete the necessary paperwork / Plex requirements.
- Required to operate the CNC Wire Bender as deemed necessary.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
- Load/unload coil.
- Make changes needed to make part in spec (understanding of length, rotation, and angle).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Requirements
- A high school education or equivalent with one (1) year minimum experience in machine set-up/die-setting or related technical field, preferably in a metal stamping environment.
- Read, interpret and comprehend safety, operating and maintenance documents and procedures.
- Ability to operate CNC Machine.
- Ability to obtain/retain a Forklift certification.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure delivery requirements.
- Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift to assist with loading and unloading materials from semi-trucks in the warehouse, ensuring safe handling and accurate placement of items.
- Meet or exceed the job requirements of the job.
- Identified candidates must be able to work overtime (daily, weekends and holidays).
