FLSA: Non-Exempt
Salary Grade: 12 (Min $25.37, Mid $29.81, Max $34.25)
Hiring Range: $25.37-$29.81/hour

Position is being offered with housing available at Village Court Apartments. Housing is anticipated to be available in November.
NATURE OF WORK:
Under general supervision of Parking and Transit management, the position will coordinate and assist in supervision of TMV parking operations services and seasonal staff. Will manage the Town of Mountain Village (TMV) parking lots while providing safe, secure, and courteous guest services to parking system users. Administers and manages TMV parking programs consistent with TMV’s vision, mission, values, policies, and procedures. Will also assist with the daily operations of the gondola and municipal bus service; may serve as a fill in crew member on the gondola.
Position Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety requirements related to safe, responsive, and reliable parking services are provided to employees, guests, and residents
- Will supervise the seasonal parking attendants while regulating TMV parking facilities.
- Will train seasonal parking team in directing parking system users to parking spaces while providing exceptional, welcoming, friendly, warm, and enthusiastic customer service.
- Will train seasonal parking attendants to assist parking system users with mobile payments platform to pay for parking sessions.
- Leads and trains team to answer parking system user’s questions regarding parking, directions and information about services and amenities located in Mountain Village and surrounding areas, including lodging, restaurants, retail, and recreation.
- Leads and trains team to perform daily counts of vehicles at specified times to determine utilization of TMV public parking facilities.
- Promote and observe safe work methods and use safety equipment; secure work sites as necessary; attends safety meetings, actively participates in trainings
- Actively works to progress the Town’s goal of zero waste and carbon neutrality by minimizing unnecessary consumption (of energy, water, paper, plastic, ink, etc.), seeking environmentally preferred products (e.g., reusable, recycled content, non-fossil fuel), and supporting environmental initiatives through participation, promotion, and accurate storytelling.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of TMV parking programs, systems, policies, and procedures.
- Reviews and approves TMV parking permits.
- Coordinates with TMV Community Services Officers to ensure policies and procedures are appropriately signed and communicated to system users.
- Conducts surveys and collects information to obtain demographic information on TMV parking system users.
- Analyzes data to provide timely information to management for decision making purposes.
- Assists management with parking reports as needed.
- Performs daily inspections of TMV parking lots and all support equipment including elevators, lights, and cameras. Reports any operational problems to management in a timely manner.
- Cleans parking lots as needed utilizing proper personal protective equipment.
- Assists with snow maintenance.
- Directs parking attendants to perform parking lot inspections, cleaning, snow removal, and maintenance as needed.
- Performs light maintenance of facilities as needed. Reports larger issues to management and coordinates repairs with appropriate TMV departments and contractors.
- Monitors signage in TMV parking facilities to ensure signage properly communicates TMV parking policies and procedures. Reports discrepancies to management.
- Develops wayfinding content and communicates with GIS
- Maintains and replaces signage as needed.
- Periodically audits Town parking webpage and coordinates with Town PIO on updates and changes.
- Will support the Transit team by filling in as a Gondola Operator II working in the Gondola stations and driving the buses/shuttles when assistance is requested. All Gondola Operator II duties and responsibilities are expected to be followed when occasionally filling this role.
- Cross trains coworkers to provide support and coverage in a team environment. May serve as team leader, team member, or support for projects as needed.
- May assist Transportation Director and Transit Operations Manager with special projects.
- Builds partnerships with other Town departments as needed. Develops working relationships with supervisors of other Town departments.
- Recommends improvements, procedure, and policy changes. Conducts research and evaluates alternatives related to parking system operations.
- May be asked to represent the Town of Mountain Village parking department during meetings, including Council meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIIONS:
Highschool diploma or GED. Prior parking experience is not required; prior guest services experience is preferred.
Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English; follow oral and written instructions and be able memorize necessary information. Will be asked to become proficient and familiar with Mountain Village and surrounding areas.
Must pass lift and bus/shuttle safety trainings within 30 days of hire.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid drivers license is required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: Parking and TMV policies and safety procedures; Parking operations standards and rules; Federal, state, and regional public transit regulations and safety standards; radio and telephone communications protocols. Gondola operations, regulations and safety procedures; Gondola operation standards and rules; Federal, state and regional public transit regulations and safety standards; radio and telephone communications protocols; Town policies and procedures; safe operation of shuttle vehicles.
Skill in: Attending to parking system users in a safe manner, in compliance with all policies and procedures, and state and local regulations; react quickly to situations that could create safety and customer security problems; using courtesy and respect in providing excellent customer service to parking system users; establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with employees and the public. Ability to train and supervise seasonal staff.
Environmental Factors: Work is performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, with limited access to shelter during busy periods. Parking personnel perform their duties in highly used public spaces on a regular basis. Work may be near moving mechanical parts, in areas with vibration and noise, in highly used public gondola cabins, public buses, public spaces, in contact with multiple use public amenities, and in an office environment. Hours may vary with workload, especially during heavy use/busy seasons and position may be asked to be available by phone after hours. Evenings/Weekends/Holidays required depending on department needs and special events/projects.
Physical Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to continuously stand and walk while on duty; may lift/move up to 40 lbs. This position will assist with snow maintenance using a snow shovel or other snow removal equipment. May be asked to operate/drive Transit vehicles.
