REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 

Position Reports To: Director of Strategy and Insight 

Work Environment: Costa Vida Pleasant Grove Office 


GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY 

The Senior Data Analyst plays a key role in leveraging data to drive business insights, optimize reporting processes, and support decision-making. The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of data-related platforms, including Tableau, and will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, creating reports, and applying machine learning methods to forecast trends and outcomes. 


Job Requirements 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Tableau Ownership: 
  • Serve as the primary owner of the Tableau platform, ensuring its effective utilization for all business analytics and reporting needs. 
  • Manage KPI creation and handle all Tableau-related requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of visualizations and dashboards. 
  • Troubleshoot any issues related to user access, permissions, automated reports, and dashboard visibility. 
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Tableau, assisting other teams with platform-related queries and challenges. 
  1. Collaboration with Data Engineers: 
  • Work closely with data engineers to resolve data concerns that arise during analysis or project execution. 
  • Identify and address data quality issues and ensure data is accurately captured, processed, and analyzed. 
  • Ensure seamless data flow between systems, resolving any discrepancies or gaps in data integration. 
  1. Machine Learning & Predictive Analytics: 
  • Apply machine learning algorithms and techniques to analyze historical data and predict future outcomes, goals, and targets. 
  • Utilize predictive models to provide actionable insights and recommendations for business strategy and performance optimization. 
  • Continuously refine and improve machine learning models to enhance prediction accuracy and reliability. 

WORKING REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS 

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. 
  • Experience Required: 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, with demonstrated expertise in business intelligence tools, machine learning, and data analysis. 
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and driving data-driven insights. 
  • Skills/Abilities: Strong experience with Tableau, including dashboard creation, data visualization, and troubleshooting. 
  • Proficiency in SQL, with a solid understanding of data structures and querying techniques. 
  • Experience working with machine learning techniques and frameworks, including predictive modeling and data analysis. 
  • Knowledge of data engineering practices and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Talking: Especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. 
  • Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. 
  • Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery. 
  • Physical Strength: Sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (All office jobs.) 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • None: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. (Such as in a typical office.) 

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION 

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. 
  • Able to interpret various instructions. 
  • Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs. 
  • Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. 
  • Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.  
  • Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent); and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
