About the role
AGL’s Hydro team has a newly created opportunity for an Operator Team Leader.
Based in Mt. Beauty in the North-East of Victoria, you will be working alongside a team of engineers, planners, site supervisors, technicians and operators who maintain and optimise our hydro assets across the region.
Mt Beauty has outstanding access to the region, surrounded by Alpine National Park, offering a lifestyle that offers balance and appeal for both individuals and families.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing the safe and efficient delivery of Operator activities associated with plant infrastructure across AGL’s Hydro portfolio.
- Leading and developing the Operator workforce and performing administrative functions and projects.
- Manage professional development and career progression for the Operator team, while identifying business resource needs.
- Support the Operator Team's use of Hydro’s Permit to Work (PTW) System
- Managing daily activities and project works in accordance with OPEX & CAPEX
- Leading the provision of safe access to plant for all planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Developing and maintaining the Operator On-Call Availability roster.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience operating within a power station or Heavy Industrial environment is essential
- Experience in Energy Sector, with a focus on the operation of hydro or gas power stations and associated electrical, mechanical and hydraulic infrastructure
- Exposure to CMMS and electronic Permit to Work programs
- Ability to provide leadership to multiple teams across remote sites
- Effective communication skills, with an ability to implement both long and short-term work programs.
- Understanding of relevant HSE legislation.
