Hastings Deering (Australia) LtdDue to an internal secondment, Hastings Deering is seeking an Equipment Specialist for a 6-month fixed term opportunity, with the potential of extension. This role is Monday to Friday, with site-based work and one day remote (subject to business needs). We are open to candidates based out of Rockhampton or Townsville.
As the Equipment Specialist, you will be the key link between our customers and Hastings Deering, overseeing product health and performance to maximise satisfaction and minimise downtime. You will provide trusted technical support, coordinate with Caterpillar and internal teams, and contribute to the growth of parts and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Build an understanding of customer maintenance and production plans to identify improvement opportunities
- Provide customers with technical support and act as their single point of contact for dealer and OEM services
- Conduct scheduled inspections to prevent premature failures and costly downtime
- Accurately record downtime events in AMT and maintain reliable component forecasts
- Capture commercial insights in CRM to support parts and service demand planning
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in a customer-facing technical role
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Tertiary engineering qualification, relevant trade or equivalent technical expertise
- Strong problem-solving skills, initiative and agility in dynamic environments
- Background in mining, mining services or heavy equipment industries
- Solid parts product knowledge and familiarity with Caterpillar fleets
